A Sweet Journey: Mama’s Brittle Travels the World
This summer, I packed my bags, my passport, and a few bags of Mama’s Brittle for a once-in-a-lifetime cruise through Europe and Scandinavia. I did not realize it at the time, but that little handmade treat turned out to be the perfect travel companion. Easy to pack, fun to share, and always ready for a sweet bite between adventures, it added a comforting taste of home wherever I went.
Norway: Nature’s Magic and Nordic Charm
The journey began in Olden, Norway, where “Brittle Meets the Glacier” became more than a photo caption; it became a memory. Surrounded by misty fjords and waterfalls tumbling down green cliffs, I hiked through the Briksdal Valley with a bag of Mama's Brittle tucked in my backpack, saving a few crunchy rewards for the glacier summit. There is something extra special about that first bite after a climb,
when the air is crisp and the view feels endless.
In Lom, the 12th-century Stave Church stood in quiet beauty, its hand-carved wood reminding me that things made with patience and care, whether architecture or candy, are built to last. From there, I followed the coast to Haugesund, where Viking legends whisper through the wind, and to Kristiansand, where sunshine, sea spray, and a handful of Mama’s Brittle made the perfect pairing for an afternoon on the boat deck.
Denmark: Fairy Tales and Flavor
In Copenhagen, I shared a bite by the harbor near the Little Mermaid, laughing with new friends over how something so small and sweet had traveled so far. Further north in Skagen, where two seas meet, I discovered that our Chocolate Lovers Peanut Brittle pairs beautifully with a cold Danish beer and warm sunshine.
Sweden & Finland: Royal Crunch and Baltic Beauty
Stockholm offered a royal welcome as I stood outside the palace gates, a bag of Mama's Brittle in hand, a sweet little moment in a city that sparkles with history. In Visby, a medieval seaside town on the island of Gotland, I found a quiet spot overlooking the Baltic and enjoyed a few bites of brittle, admiring the sea. Across the ocean in Helsinki, the Rock Church, carved right into the rock, reminded me of how creativity and craftsmanship connect us all.
Estonia & Germany: Stories and Sweetness
In Tallinn, I wandered through winding alleys lined with red rooftops and cobblestones, brittle in hand, soaking in the old-world charm. Berlin was more reflective, standing at the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Wall, I felt grateful to share a small piece of sweetness in a place that holds so much history.
England: Stones, Pubs, and Sweet Moments
The final leg brought me to England. From the cheerful port of Southampton to the ancient stones of Stonehenge, Mama's Brittle was part of every toast and memory. It paired beautifully with a pint in a cozy pub and a glass of wine over lunch.
Closing
After 21 days, countless cities, and endless shared smiles, I came home, reminded that no matter how far you travel, a little handmade goodness always finds its place.
Wherever your adventures take you, I recommend a delicious bag of Mama’s Brittle, a travel-ready, melt-free, sweet, and crunchy treat.
